This page contains the statements of my core values--those principles that I find to be the fundamental tenets that guide the way I work and live. Over the next few months (years?) I will be refining my understanding of these values as I continue to live them. Many of my basic philosophies of life derive directly from these core values. Core value 1: I believe that we live in a world of abundance, that the world is a good and beautiful place, and that there are sufficient resources for all of us to realize our dreams. Any limitations that we perceive are largely self-imposed; when we learn to see beyond those limitations, then we can truly be self-fulfilled. Core value 2: I believe in the value of the individual, that all are worthy of our respect and kindness, although I acknowledge that some forms of kindness may seem harsh at times to others. I believe in the basic goodness of all people, and that it is wiser to think the best of people than to assume the worst. Core value 3: I believe that what we experience is formed from what we project into the world, or more simply--we reap what we sow and nurture. This implies that we are individually responsible for the life we lead and the things that happen to us. |
